Discounted Mortgages

What are Discounted Mortgages?

Discounted Mortgages, also known as Discounted Rate Mortgages, discount the rate of interest from the lender’s Standard Variable Rate. This is done for a specified period of time and the discount is fixed, irrespective of any changes to the lender’s interest rate. At the end of the specified time period, the discount reverts back to the lender’s Standard Variable Rate. These mortgages are often taken by people hoping to benefit from lower payments.
